据李小龙身边的人介绍：李小龙是个脾气非常暴躁的人，而且经常随身携带小刀，与人发生口角时，情绪过激好动刀。
作为一代宗师的李小龙，虽说他是截拳道的创始人，但是当他与人发生格斗冲突时，他会尽可能用刀而不是靠截拳道来解决问题，因为他非常清楚：他的功力再大也不如一把小刀有威力。
作为无限制武道创始人的陈鹤皋先生此前曾深入研习截拳道数载，真正地领悟了李小龙的格斗宗旨，提出了“有武器就不徒手”的格斗原则，并创立了以便携式武器（小钩子、小剪子、二节棍等）为主体的无限制武道，可以说，在众多的截拳道习练者当中，能够真正领悟李小龙格斗宗旨的只有陈鹤皋一人而已。
