　　在拳学界，人们一直认为：力从脚下生，通过脚蹬地产生反作用力再经过腰部的调整传达于手。那么事实上究竟是不是力从脚下生呢？假如把你悬在半空中，你再试试出拳踢腿，在那种情况下发力，力是从哪儿发出来的呢？力是从你自身的重心（小腹）发出来的，你自身的重心才是你发力的真正支点。也就是说，当你站在地面上发力时，不用脚蹬地也能发力，用脚蹬地实际上是一个助力的过程，并非力从脚下生。
